It is FREE to be Kind

In this world of instant gratification, so many people are worried about gaining more, more, more. People have lost the art of simply being … nice.

How can that be?

Well, partly as parents – we have largely done a poor job. What? Yes, you read that correctly. It all starts with us … maybe our parents … maybe our aunts and uncles.

How can that be?

Common sense says that it had to start somewhere. I grew up in the South where the only things sweeter than the tea were the girls and the neighbor’s cherry pies in late summer. Life is not like that anymore. Even here. It has all changed.

Today’s motivational exercise: Smile at a random stranger. Just a simple smile. It costs nothing. If that person does not smile back, quietly say to yourself, “It is better to be the one who smiled rather the one who smiled back”. Keep doing it until someone smiles back at you.
